recognize troops who go camping during the year. The yearly award categories

The Year Round Camping Award can be earned
by both Scouts and Scouters by camping overnight one night a month for at least

Crime Prevention Award can be earned by
completing requirements in your community that brings awareness of the crimes
that can and are being committed in our neighborhoods and city. Click

The BSA Lifeguard can be earned by
completing the Boy Scout Aquatics course. Active demonstrative knowledge in
canoeing, rowing, swimming, and lifesaving merit badge requirements are required
to pass this test to become a BSA lifeguard.

Junior Leader
Training Conference
(Timberline) is a week long leadership training program for boy leaders
developed by the Boy Scouts of America and offered by the Scout Council.
The week long conference is designed to train the Scout in team building and
leadership in an outdoor experience which calls on the use of Scouting skills.
Scoutmasters are encouraged to provide opportunities within the unit for
application and use of leadership training learned at the conference so that the
Scout applies the skills he learned during the conference." The
course is conducted by a staff of volunteer Scouts and Scouters selected by the
Training Committee. JLTC is not another summer camp, but an intense,
challenging, leadership experience.

This great 50 Miler Award is offered to individuals and Scout groups who
complete a 50 mile trek either by foot or afloat. Just think of the memories
that this award will bring years after being earned. Requirements and the

This is the Historic Trails Award. Together
with your Scout group hike or camp for 2 days and one night along an historical
trail or site and learn the significance of the trail or site in history. Check

The Museum of Peoples and Cultures patch can
be earned by both Cub Scouts and Scouts. This patch was designed to motivate and
guide scouts to a greater appreciation and understanding of native cultures and
lifeways. The Museum is located in Provo, Utah. Click here for information on

The Great Western Trail Award can be earned
by completing projects along a portion of the Great Western Trail. These

for Scout units. It is called the "Troop
Representative" for the Order of the Arrow. Scouters, make sure
you have an Order of the Arrow representative assigned to help your troop.
